No punishment for breaking someone’s heart?

Murder – section 302, 303, 304

Robbery – section 392

Breaking someone’s heart – section ??

There it goes.

Blank.

There’s no punishment for breaking someone’s heart.

Ever thought why?

*According to me*

Suppose you love someone. You love that person so much and then one day out of nowhere *god forbid*, that person breaks it up with you.

You will be heartbroken because you loved that person.

Now suppose you were just in a casual relationship (which you shouldn’t get yourself into – that’s the talk for another post), you had feelings for this person but you didn’t love him/her, then it wouldn’t break your heart when he/she breaks up with you.

So here’s the point.

That person broke your heart but you won’t file a complaint against him/her. Because you love that person and you don’t wanna hurt them.

And if you didn’t love that person then it wouldn’t lead to a heartbreak, so there’s no point of filing any complaint, even if there was a punishment for this.

A person can only hurt you(emotionally) or break your heart if you are in love with him/her. Otherwise, they can’t. Whatever he/she does won’t affect you if you don’t love them.
